Department of Radiology

The radiology department provides all radiological diagnostic services using the latest devices and equipment available worldwide in addition to the interventional radiology service and arterial and venous catheterization and includes a number of specialists and includes the following divisions:

Magnetic Resonance Division

 The Division provides adult and pediatric imaging services, imaging services under general anesthesia, and for all types of magnetic resonance imaging, including arteriography.

Special Interventional Radiology Division

 The Division provides its services through the following devices:

  •  Arterial catheterization device. Diagnostic tests are performed such as staining the main arteries and veins of the body and catheterizing the arteries of the brain. All interventional examinations such as implanting networks and cylinders in the arteries and veins and inside the brain are also done.
  •  Computed tomography devices, and there are two spiral tomography devices available through which all tomography examinations of the body can be performed in addition to interventional procedures such as taking biopsies from different body organs and withdrawing an abscess and water sacs.

Division of Nuclear Medicine

 The division contains the latest medical technology in nuclear imaging and a hot laboratory for preparing radioactive materials. The division includes a dual-head multi-angle camera capable of fast and accurate tomography nuclear imaging to detect diseases in its initial stages, a gamma device, a single-head camera, a device for measuring the activity of the computerized thyroid gland as well as a PET scan.  Department learning activities:

  •  Morning report to discuss cases with the duty doctor, in the presence of all faculty members.
  •  RADIOLOGY METTING jointly with the Department of Internal Medicine on Thursday (every two weeks).
  •  Training of diagnostic radiology residents within the approved residency programs for the purposes of the Jordanian and Arab Board in diagnostic radiology and the residency program includes four years of training during which the trainee is acquainted with various images and radiological examinations and the vast amount of radiological examinations helps to refine the expertise of the resident physicians, as the radiology department performs about 70,000 radiological examinations Different per year
  •  Scientific and research activities and conferences for members of the department / division (global / local / Arab)
  •  The department's specialists participate in publishing scientific research in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
  •  Distinguished processes and procedures
  •  Working on the radiographic reading system and writing reports through the PACS system
