It is considered one of the distinguished departments of medical services in the North Region and includes about three specialists, ‎

 The department also provides a program to train doctors in the department through the academic program (higher specialization in psychiatry).

 It contains qualified cadres in dealing with psychiatric patients, and a specialized ward was opened for the treatment of female psychiatric patients. This specialty also provides treatment for child psychiatric patients.
